My fascination with building reflections first started in Sydney with the many tall glass fronted buildings. While in Sydney I visited the Art Gallery NSW and saw the ‘Picasso – Masterpieces from the Musee National Picasso, Paris’ exhibition. I could see a relationship with the many faceted cubist works of Picasso and Braque and the Sydney images reflected on the glass window panes of the buildings. I decided to experiment and develop this relationship when I got back to the UK. I have tried to look and develop the interplay between the hard edges of the window frames, building edges against the more fluid and dynamic images being reflected. This is an ongoing series of paintings that continually provides additional, associated avenues to investigate further.
